Ramón Siscart leads us to discover the evolution of our society by exploring the changes that time produces in roads and paths.
“This work explores the interplay between territory, identity, and memory through a traditional documentary photography approach.
Representing the territory entails seeking and discovering reflections of a constantly evolving modern society. Highways and paths no longer solely lead to destinations; they themselves become significant places, integrated into the landscape. They serve as conduits for migratory currents and counter-currents of tourism, overseeing social changes and regional transformations. They shape the customs of inhabiting, altering the way we travel and manage the territory, thereby becoming objects of reflective creation.
The work is structured around 20 images that serve as a common thread. It can be expanded to cover the entire territory, with several smaller images complementing the journey and surrounding the central ones.
Over the course of 8 years, this exploration work has sought visual surprises along the route and has confronted the changing social habits as time passes.”
