SERIES
AUTHOR : KATHRIN MUNDWILER
“Print Your Vision” was our latest Open Call to select a winning project and print it as a photobook.
We’re now showcasing the finalist projects on our website.
This is the series that Kathrin Mundwiler has presented to the Open Call.
“In this series, I explore how we create, shape, and interact with the environment around us. I am fascinated by the ways we unconsciously express ourselves through the places we inhabit and the stories that unfold—both visible and implied. I believe an image doesn’t need to depict a person literally to be infused with human presence. (All) Over Place is a visual thinking process for me—a way to contemplate and reflect on the human condition. It’s a series that is highly dynamic, constantly evolving and never ending. While the images might appear to be all over the place, they are unified by a shared emotional resonance. When I encounter a particular scene, I often feel a mix of excitement and heartache. These moments reflect the gap between intention and reality, reminding me of the many contradictions inherent in all of us. The images may spark existential questions within me or leave me in awe of the unintentional absurdity we often create. It is the bittersweet realisation of my own inability to fully grasp the complexity of being human that drives this series forward.”.
