TITLE : SHORELINE DRIVE
SERIES
AUTHOR : JIMMI KIKKENBORG
Jimmi Kikkenborg’s photos transmit calm, they take me to a place that is the result of the vision of the person who observes them.
It is an intangible place that has existed for many years or perhaps will never really exist.
” “Shoreline Drive” is a photographic exploration of the Danish West Coast, born from a deeply personal journey.
I embarked on this project in 2019, following a personal crisis that challenged my sense of identity and my motivation to capture everyday moments.
I forced myself to drive back and forth along the coast, whenever possible, to find my motivation again.
During this process, I rediscovered my own style of photography and found inner peace in my work.
With a camera in hand and pockets full of film, this collection reflects both the external landscapes and my internal journey of rediscovery.
This series contains over 80 pictures characterized by minimalist compositions and a vivid color palette.
Focusing on the abandoned, the awkward, the humorous and the colorful elements along the coast, it captures fragments of a historic fishing community that now shares waves with an increasing number of surfers and tourists on the Danish West Coast.
The whole series is shot with the legendary Hasselblad 500c and different color films.”
