TITLE : GOLD RUSH
SERIES
AUTHOR : TIM JAMIESON

Documentary works, with a street aesthetic, always allow you to delve deeply into the subject being portrayed.

In this case, Tim Jamieson aims his lens at the world of racetracks.

I find racecourses endlessly fascinating.

They’re often vibrant (sometimes drab) spaces that attract people from all walks of life: the down-and-outs chasing quick cash, sly bookies, the well-heeled elite, trainers, jockeys, young lads and lasses, families, seasoned punters – all drawn together for a few hours by the spectacle of horse racing.

Racecourses are places full of emotion: anticipation, excitement, hope, disappointment, heartbreak.

For me, they offer limitless potential for people-watching and candid photography and through this ongoing project I hope to capture a slice of British horse racing culture from the public’s perspective.”
