TITLE : IT'S ALL COMMON
SERIES
AUTHOR : Cosmin Gârleșteanu
For years now, Cosmin Gârleșteanu’s work has been one of the most outstanding in terms of street photography.
Some time ago, he decided to focus on photographing everyday things that fill everyday life.
“In the beginning, I felt attracted to “powerful” images, that had a sudden impact, but after a while, these shots began to bore me.
The mundane, dominated by the beauty of the ordinary things (as I like to call it), caught my attention more and more. Most of images were taken in Bucharest.
“It’s All Common” is an immersive exploration into the profound beauty found within life’s simplest moments, devoid of human presence.
The often-overlooked elegance of the mundane, the rediscovery of everyday scenes and objects, revealing the subtle poetry hidden within the banal, that is what it is all about.
Each image serves as a testament to the profound depth inherent in simplicity, urging us to pause, reflect, and find solace in the quiet magnificence of the world around us.”
About Cosmin Gârleșteanu
I live in Bucharest, Romania. I’m 39 and I’m addicted to photography. Especially street photography. When I was a boy, I was dreaming of becoming a choreographer or to work in the music industry, but I ended up graduating from the Academy of Economic Studies. A total loss of time. I didn’t like it at all. As a student, I started working as an editor and voice over for a radio station, and after graduation I found a job in television. Again, a creative medium. Nowadays I’m still in television, working as a video editor. I like to believe that photography is the best medicine, at hand and quite cheap. And it goes very well with music. For the last 3 years I’ve been and admin of the international street photography group OnSpot. During all this time I had the pleasure to promote excellent photographers and I got to learn a lot from them. I was part of various street photography exhibitions, as those from the Miami, London, Milano or Brussels festivals.
