TITLE : NOTE TO SELF
SERIES
AUTHOR : RAMMY NARULA

I have been following the work of Bangkok-based photographer Rammy Narula for years. What strikes me most in his work is his great aesthetic taste, the sensitivity that his photos convey and his peculiar way of giving a philosophical meaning to his photography. In this series all these elements are present.

“Photography plays a big role in my quest for self knowledge and discovery, and making self portraits is a big part of that process.

The thoughts behind them keep changing over the years. Where I started and where I am now.

At first it just seemed fun.

Over time it became about finding myself in my environment.

And these days it’s become a way to accept myself as I am.

To acknowledge and give myself what I need, a form of self acknowledgement.

The journey seems constantly evolving, with many surprises along the way.”
