TITLE : NAPOLI TERZO SCUDETTO
SERIES
AUTHOR : ROBBIE MCINTOSH
Robbie McIntosh takes us to Naples at a historic moment for its citizens: The city’s soccer team manages to win Serie A.
The photos are divided into three key moments for the tifosi:
Before:
It took 33 years to win another scudetto. After the Maradona era, Napoli went bankrupt, relegated twice, before beginning to rise again and becoming a competitor.
During:
Despite of superstition, and mostly due to a huge advantage over the chasing teams, Neapolitans started to celebrate three months in advance.
After:
The city erupted with joy, madness, desire of redemption. A team from Southern Italy has won the Serie A after 33 years. It’s time for the feast ecstasy, just like Ancient Greece.
